MINING: FOR JOBS AND PROSPERITY

The Mining Association of Nova Scotia represents companies in all areas of mining and quarrying: exploration, discovery, development, production and reclamation as well as consultants and suppliers to the industry.

Nova Scotia’s mining and quarrying industry employs over 3000 people and is the province’s highest-paying resource industry with average total compensation (wages and benefits) of $102,000 per year.

Today’s mining and quarrying industry is a sophisticated, high tech business that is vital to our economy and way of life. Mining contributes to everything in our daily lives, from houses to electronics to food production. You can’t build things like homes, roads, schools and hospitals without the materials we take from the ground.
